Diligence

The Swarm

Order of Diligence · Anointed: Queen Bee

Before they were an Order, the orchard towns lived by ledgers and harvest calendars. Hydra offered them abundance without the slow accounting of trust: grain locked away for the deserving, walls high enough that unfinished work could be forgotten. For a season the storehouses looked full. The towns consented.

Repentance began when crews found promises recorded as carefully as grain, and realized a locked granary was still a debt. They reopened gates they had helped shut. In the War of Closed Roads they fought as builders and town watches, rotating through posts so no duty was treated as lesser work. When peace came, their wartime Vow became Diligence: work left unfinished remains part of the harvest until it is kept.

Queen Bee carries that Vow now. She is judged not by command from safety, but by what remains standing after she has gone. In Swarm memory a Queen sets many hands in motion. The office is irreversible, freely accepted, and meant for a life already proved.

In the field

Queen Bee. Queen Bee spends Energy to raise a Drone on an empty tile beside her. She does not fight. She builds the swarm that does.
